The DSWCD essay contest is geared for 6th grade students in the Davie County school system as well as 6th grade homeschool students. It requires each student entry to be 300-500 words in length. Your work will be based on a specific conservation/environmental/agricultural theme selected for the year.

2024 - 2025 school year theme: Wetlands Are Wonderful!

There are multiple levels to these contests: 

1. School-Level: Top 3 essays from each school (as selected by teachers/school) to be entered into District (county) contest.

2. District (Davie County) Level: Top essay (1) selected from the county to be entered into the Area 8 contest.

3. Area 8 Level: Top essays selected from the Area to be entered into the State (NC) contest.
